This Cairns project delivers new Aquafil Refill Stations to provide local residents and visitors with safe, free access to drinking water in key CBD locations.
The provision of the Aquafil Refill Stations align with Cairns being a sustainable tourism destination and provide long-term tourism and community benefits. Cairns has a hot humid climate, this project enhances the comfort and safety of residents and visitors while reducing the consumption of plastic bottles and protecting the environment.
This project is part of the Public Domain Improvement Program (PDIP), which funds minor capital works to deliver a range of long lasting benefits to the community as well as ensuring the best possible experience for visitors during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).
