Broadwater Parklands Footpath

An alternate event deck and pathway will be constructed behind the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre to allow adequate and safe pedestrian access. It will be flexible to be utilised for future events such as the Gold Coast Airport Marathon, aquatic events and triathlons.

The design will consider the parklands, marine environment, ecological values of the area and provide a viewing platform for the surrounding wetlands, as well as an Environmental Interpretative information area.

The Public Domain Improvement Program (PDIP) funds minor capital works to deliver a range of long lasting benefits to the community as well as ensuring the best possible experience for visitors during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).

The Gold Coast Aquatic Centre at Southport Broadwater Parklands will host the GC2018 Swimming and Diving program along with the Triathlon and Marathon events.
