Griffith Review: Commonwealth Now
A special edition of the Griffith Review was published for GC2018 featuring 30 writers from around the Commonwealth.
Commonwealth Now, partnering with Griffith University, aimed to explore the past and the future of the Commonwealth and addressed the challenges preventing the Commonwealth in fully realising its contemporary significance.
These included perspectives from First Nation’s peoples, trade relations, education, tourism, sustainability, climate change and human rights.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will transform the Gold Coast and Queensland by creating benefits for our communities before, during and after the 11 days of competition. These are the benefits that this initiative will bring to Queenslanders both within the Gold Coast and across our state:
The Commonwealth Games profile as a diverse and inclusive event is enhanced through GC2018.
- Authors will be drawn from all countries in the Commonwealth; contributions will reflect current issues and events from across the Commonwealth. The publication will illustrate the challenges that need to be confronted for the Commonwealth to fully realise its contemporary significance.
