North Queensland ready to create great guest experiences

Lilly Choi-Lee, Maddy Voinea and Trevor Lee

Inspired, passionate and determined are just a few of the outcomes communicated by participants of the recent Be My Guest Forums and Workshops held across Townsville and Cairns. In the lead-up to, during and beyond the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) it is more important than ever to create the best guest experience possible and to create pride in the destination.

The program, designed and facilitated by TravConsult, inspires front line tourism, hospitality and retail staff and managers to deliver a genuine guest experience as one team for their region.  Participants also learn the importance of GC2018 to the state and how crucial their roles are to a great guest experience.

Workshop participant, Maddy Voinea from Townsville Film Company Bluekino believes ‘it is crucial for Townsville to deliver a great guest experience - we can’t afford not to.’

Feedback from the workshops is positive with 76% of attendees reporting they felt inspired to deliver an even greater guest experience.

Be My Guest is fully funded by the Embracing 2018 Legacy Program with a contribution from the Australian Government’s Tourism Demand-Driver Infrastructure (TDDI) program so there is no charge to participants. Online content will soon be available for businesses across the state.
