Queensland on show to Asia
As the Queen’s Baton made its way through Malaysia and Singapore, a shared passion for sport and investment opportunities united business and government leaders at Trade 2018 events.
The Trade 2018 visit to Asia was an excellent opportunity to promote Queensland and the Gold Coast’s investment opportunities and invite delegates to join the extensive Trade 2018 Games Time Trade and Investment Program.
These international Trade 2018 visits are one of many ways Queensland is ensuring a lasting legacy through business investment and tourism from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).
Both Malaysia and Singapore are rich with a variety of opportunities and the connections made during these visits will add value well beyond the Games.
Highlights of the visit included:
- 700 guests in Malaysia joining the Annual Gala Dinner to hear about the Trade 2018 program, and engage with the Queen’s Baton and Games mascot, Borobi
- Trade 2018 Reception which showcased Queensland to more than 200 Singaporean officials with keynote speakers, GC2018 telecommunications partner, Singtel Optus, and technology investor and entrepreneur, David Hulston
- Roundtable discussions hosted by the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore and Commonwealth Alliance of Youth Entrepreneurs (Asia) for key senior executives
- Queensland is ready to return the warm welcome we've received from our international partners by inviting delegates to join the Trade 2018 program happening across Queensland in April 2018.
