Register yourself or your team for the GC2018 10,000 Steps Venues Tournament
Queensland, are you up for the challenge?
Eager adults keen to explore beautiful Queensland between Cairns and the Gold Coast on foot are now one step closer to doing just that. Train with friends and colleagues to enjoy the launch of our new virtual 10,000 Steps walking tournament.
The 10,000 Steps project, a health promotion program funded by Queensland Health and managed by Central Queensland University, will encourage adults to put on their activity trackers to monitor and increase their daily physical activity.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) themed journey invites participants to track their steps on a virtual walking tournament between the Event Cities (Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane) to the Host City—the Gold Coast.
Participants log their steps on a daily basis and follow their progress on the virtual venues’ tour. A total of 2,246,726 steps are required to complete the tournament. 10,000 Steps encourages users to complete this tournament as a team (recommended 10 per team). Start getting excited about GC2018 by registering for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Venues Tournament at www.10000steps.org.au.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will transform the Gold Coast and Queensland by creating benefits for our communities before, during and after the 11 days of competition. These are the benefits that this initiative will bring to Queenslanders both within the Gold Coast and across our state:
