GC2018 Internship Program
As part of Griffith University’s partnership with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, hundreds of Griffith students will have access to exclusive internship opportunities. This will include working with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) during the planning and delivery of the Games.
The Internship Program offers students the unique opportunity to be part of the largest sporting event in Australia this decade, while gaining credit towards their degree, and meaningful study-related work experience.
Student internships cover a broad range of study areas including sports management, business, IT, communications, and urban and environmental planning.
The Internship Program has benefits not only for students, but also for Games organisers, with GOLDOC team members sharing their vast knowledge in a meaningful way. This knowledge transfer from GC2018, and up-skilling of the local workforce is an important GC2018 legacy.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will transform the Gold Coast and Queensland by creating benefits for our communities before, during and after the 11 days of competition. These are the benefits that this initiative will bring to Queenslanders both within the Gold Coast and across our state:
- GC2018 supports jobs growth over 10 years
- GC2018 creates opportunities to obtain new skills, training and experience
